North Platte broke through in the top of the fifth inning when Julia Leicht delivered a single to center field, driving in one run, while another scored on a Luna error.
The Rough Riders responded in the bottom half of the inning, taking control with four runs. Luna extended their lead in the sixth, adding five more runs on three hits to secure the victory.
Areliana Bravo got the start in the circle for the Knights, pitching 5.1 innings. She allowed 12 hits and eight runs (five earned) while recording two strikeouts.

Luna carried its momentum into the second game, opening the scoring with a two-run home run.
North Platte answered with its lone run when Leicht doubled to bring home Trinity Carr.
Luna continued to build its lead with two runs in the third inning, two more in the fifth, and three in the sixth to complete the sweep.
Danica Unger pitched a complete game for North Platte, allowing eight hits and nine runs (five earned). She struck out three and issued three walks.
Knights (2-14) will continue Region 9 play as they compete in another doubleheader to Luna Community College on Sunday. First pitch is set for 11 a.m.
