Knights place sixth in McCook Community College Tournament

McCook, Neb. – The North Platte Community College men's golf team finished play at the McCook Community College Tournament, finishing sixth in the team standings with a two-day total of 99-over par.

Simon Capocci led the way, placing 17th individually. He opened with an 82 in the first round, improving in round two by three to finish with a two-day total of 161 (+17).

Layne Smotzer tied for 21st after carding his best round on Friday with a 78 to finish with a two-day total of 164 (+20). 

Chandler Frahm showed improvement across the two days, following up his opening-round 87 with an 83 to finish at 170 (+26). Darin Neben rounded out the Knights in the field, finishing in 35th with a two-round total of 180 (+36).

The Knights will return to action Apr. 2-3 at the Northeastern Junior College Tournament at the Riverview Golf Course in Sterling, Colo.
